This
page is dedicated to my first Persian,
Karista, who died in 2001. I received
her as a present many years ago from
my boyfriend at the time. I have had
cats my entire life. As a young girl
I was often bringing home strays and
homeless kittens, much to my parents'
dismay. Lucky for me, my father had
a soft spot for animals and after my
relentless pleading to keep the cat
he would eventually always cave in.
My sisters and I couldn't have been
happier.
Karista was special. She lived for 19
1/2 years; the longest of any of my
cats. She was the sweetest, most loving
kitty and the best gift I have ever
received. I have never known such affection
and unconditional love. Her wonderful
personality left an indelible mark on
my soul and she is forever in my heart.
In her memory I have named my cattery
KaristaKats.
Karista died peacefully at home, in
my arms, of old age and a stroke. She
was surrounded by love in her last hours.
She was laid to rest in a beautiful
pet cemetery on top of a mountain under
the tall trees. I miss her to this day.
